Now formally established as a private foundation under Internal Revenue Code 501 (c) (3), UKC operates primarily to promote nondenominational religious thought and practice; foster grants seeking to support remote education initiatives; and as described by the George W. Bush Institute, “create avenues of hope by combating discrimination, protecting against violence, and offering a safety net that keeps the least among us from being consigned to a life without means.”
